The Fine Arts Society of Detroit presents: The Therapist

About

Following up on their popular 2024 production of “Escanaba in Da Moonlight”, the Fine Arts Society of Detroit returns to the Cheboygan Opera House with Jerry Nehr’s hilarious new play “The Therapist”. Don’t miss this performance, for one night only! “The Therapist” follows a day in the life of Buster — a psychotherapist who’s not very good at his job. Buster has an…unconventional…therapeutic approach that pushes ethical boundaries and unapologetically brings his own childhood issues into his clients’ sessions. Foot fetishes, kleptomania, and Cowboy dress-up are just some of the issues that will leave you wondering if you should have a therapist like Buster in your life. The Fine Arts Society of Detroit (FASD) was established by leaders of the community in 1906 to bring together professional and amateur lovers of the Arts. Members first met in their homes, then in local Detroit theaters such as the Gem and the Arts and Crafts Theater. Some of the earliest members were responsible for the creation of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
